Mug Cake

This Mug Cake is perfect for when you want cake and you want it now: you know, when it’s the middle of the afternoon and you need a quick pick-me-up, or when it’s the middle of the night and pulling out your baking pans is a tad too much. Even better, you can make as much or as little as you want, and none of it goes to waste!

The cake is rich, moist, and yummy enough on its own, but in case you’re feeling indulgent, you can make a chocolate syrup to top it with.

METHOD

TO MAKE THE CAKE:

Whisk together all the wet ingredients in a mug.

Add the almond powder and cacao powder, and stir until evenly combined.

Microwave for 1-2 minutes, or until the cake is cooked through.

TO MAKE THE TOPPING:

Place the cacao butter in a double boiler and slowly melt it.

Add all the other ingredients until well combined.

Take if off the heat and continue whisking until it cools. Once it begins to thicken, pour it on top of the cake.

  • 100 grams cacao butter
  • 1.5 tablespoon raw honey
  • 2 tablespoons cacao powder
