Baked Stuffing

This Baked Stuffing is a delicious, GAPS diet-friendly alternative to the traditional sage stuffing, and the perfect accompaniment to our Roast Turkey. You can make this ahead, cut it into chunks, and stuff the turkey with it as it cooks. It’s delightfully aromatic — you and your kids’ mouths will water from just a whiff!

INGREDIENTS

METHOD

1.

Preheat oven to 180c.

2.

Grease a medium-sized baking dish.

3.

Add the ghee to a saucepan over medium heat.

4.

Sauté onion, celery, apple, bacon, and herbs for about 5 minutes, then remove from heat

5.

In a bowl, add almond flour, dates, and lightly beaten eggs

6.

Add all ingredients together and bake for about 45 minutes to an hour.

INGREDIENTS

  • 3 cups diced onions
  • 2 cups diced celery
  • 1 cup diced apple
  • 1/4 cup dates, chopped into small pieces
  • 2 cups almond flour
  • 3 rashers bacon or thick-cut Italian ham
  • 2 tsp sage
  • 2 tsp thyme
  • 1/4 tsp rosemary
  • Salt and pepper
  • 2 tbsp ghee
  • 3 whisked eggs
