Low Immunity

By Dr Evelyn Lewin

The immune system is the front line of protection for the body – it is your child’s own personal defence force. Low Immunity leads to increased susceptibility to virtually every type of illness. To maintain it’s fighting power, it needs adequate nutrients, rest and exercise. See Dr Eng’s Nutrition Protocols for increasing a Child’s Immunity Naturally

symptoms

A Common Infection is usually viral. Examples include sore throats, coughing, runny nose and fever. If your child has a temperature and is unwell, please see a Doctor. Often nasty throat infections require antibiotics.

treatment

Often with LOW IMMUNITY the following vitamins and minerals are deficient but you should always conduct a blood test to measure the levels of vitamins or minerals that your child may be deficient in – to avoid excessive intake. ALWAYS get a blood test from your Doctor (or see a Specialist from NIIM or ACNEM) to establish correct dosage.

 Dietary Factors

  • Rule out protein- calorie Malnutrition. Deficiencies in Nutrients increase susceptibility to infection.
  • Low Fat Diet
  • Minimise Glucose, Sucrose and Fructose intakes during an infection
